CAREER OVERVIEW

Life-long athlete and outdoor recreation enthusiast

BSK / MSK

Seventeen years in general populations personal training, NCAA Division 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach, and medical fitness.

Nine years instructing including six as the Program Director for charitable exercise oncology program.

RECENT CAREER FOCUS

I believe that kindness and helping others are healthful human behaviors. To emulate this professionally, I advocate for exercise as medicine in clinical and community-based programs that boost physical literacy and motivation for pursuing healthy lifestyle behaviors. I hold a BS in Kinesiology as a Health Fitness Specialist and an MS in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, and I am the Founder of Remote Medical Fitness Systems.

Since 2016, I have exclusively work in the exercise oncology field, directly supervising more than 500 and overseeing the exercise programming for more than 750 cancer patients and survivors. Working in the nonprofit world, I met more than 300 patients in one-on-one consulting environments, learning the detailed health histories of each patient's journey. This gave me more than 4,500 hours experience directing exercise oncology and 2,500 hours in-service instructing patients. In my work in the charitable sector, I also developed eight other coaches utilizing the best practices for safely and effectively leading groups through foundational fitness education. One of the most valuable skillsets in this service is incorporating essential components of human connection to improve motivation, self-confidence, and exercise adherence. I've seen that the life-changing impact of strengthening and conditioning the body with exercise has been exceeded only by the incredible bonding and peer support that comes from working together to get stronger. This work in medical fitness has forever changed who I am, both professionally and personally.

Claire Rumore,
Intimacy & Sexuality Educator | Founder, Cancer & Intimacy, LLC

Claire Rumore is an intimacy and sexuality educator, consultant, and cancer survivor specializing in intimacy-informed survivorship care.

After being diagnosed with colon and pancreatic cancer in 2022, Claire experienced firsthand how infrequently sexuality, body image, relational shifts, and desire are meaningfully addressed in cancer treatment and recovery. That lived experience reshaped the trajectory of her work.

With over two decades of background in sexuality studies, embodied facilitation, and relational frameworks, Claire partners with healthcare organizations, clinicians, and survivorship programs to integrate intimacy-aware education into cancer care systems. She is the founder of Cancer & Intimacy, LLC, an educational platform dedicated to whole-person healing through resources, professional training, and organizational consulting.

Claire’s work bridges clinical systems and lived experience. She helps providers feel confident initiating conversations around intimacy while equipping patients and survivors with practical tools to navigate body changes, desire shifts, communication challenges, and emotional healing.

Her approach is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and grounded in dignity, compassion, and relational intelligence.

She believes intimacy, connection, and pleasure are not peripheral to healing — they are central to quality of life.
